Spectra is a complete package of new products, services, partner programs, and development tools for Software Defined Radio (SDR) OEMs, system integrators and independent software vendors. Spectra addresses the growth and deployment of SDR by providing the industry with the most comprehensive customer service-focused product line available, and the rapid acceptance of Spectra products represents the validation of the COTS SDR market by SDR developers. Through Spectra, PrismTech provides a 'total customer service' package that includes robust waveform and platform developer tools, high performance and low profile operating environments, a wideband, high-performance baseband and RF SDR development and test platform, full compliance support for SDR standards, expert professional services for all phases of SDR development and deployment, and dynamic OEM, SI, and ISV partner programs. Spectra SDR solutions support the
Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 2.2 and 2.2.2, as well as the OMG's Software Radio Specification.
Spectra offerings include:
Spectra OEThe industry's highest-performing and lowest-profile fully SCA-compliant operating environment. As evidenced by deployment on extremely small form-factor COTS platforms, Spectra OE has the smallest footprint Operating System (OS) / CORBA / Core Framework (CF) integration of any SCA implementation. Furthermore, it offers unrivaled support for General Purpose Processors (GPP), Digital Signal Processors (DSP) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), thus delivering the SCA prime objective of enabling complete waveform portability between radio platforms. Spectra OE is also available with support for OMG Software Radio Specification compliance.
Spectra CXSpectra CX is a model-driven development tool that simplifies, accelerates, and validates a significant proportion of SCA development process. Spectra CX validates SCA compliance at the architectural and unit test level, and generates correct-by-construction SCA compliant artifacts, such as: XML descriptor files, compliance test reports, and validation documentation. Spectra CX enables SCA and non-SCA software aspects to be developed together, integrated early, and thoroughly tested. Spectra CX also reduces development risk due to its consistent model-based approach. Together the above benefits result in faster time-to-market, lower costs, better software quality, and superior compliance for all SCA waveform and platform code developed with Spectra CX.
Spectra DTP4500Spectra DTP4500 is a wideband, high-performance baseband and RF SDR development and test platform. DTP4500 supports the implementation and deployment of the next-generation of complex SCA compliant networking waveforms required for both military, homeland security and commercial SDRs. Spectra DTP4500 is an optimized small form-factor platform with low power consumption that enables the development, testing and deployment of waveforms.
Integrated Circuit ORB (ICO)The ICO supports a drop-in SCA compatible interface between distributed software objects running on processors and waveform objects residing in silicon. Using ICO, one eliminates the need to develop custom proxies on GPPs and DSPs that simply serve to establish communication to waveform objects residing within FPGAs. These proxies (sometimes referred to as Hardware Abstraction Layers – HALs) are used when designing to SDR architectures such as the SCA and are meant to increase portability and re-use, but in practice, they tend to increase latency, reduce throughput, and lower re-use.
Spectra Professional ServicesA range of consulting and development options led by recognized authorities on SDR standards and their implementations. These services are engaged today on some of the largest SDR programs worldwide to provide deliverables such as compliance guidelines, waveform source code development and porting, technical training and SCA consulting. Led by two of the original authors of the SCA, and the OMG's Software Radio Specification, Spectra professional services deliver SDR domain solutions from SDR domain experts.
