PrismTech to Work with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms to Develop COTS SCA-compliant Development & Deployment Platform

New platform will shorten time to market

Boston, MA, USA — December 2, 2009 — PrismTech™, an acknowledged leader in Software Defined Radio (SDR) infrastructure solutions, today announced at the SDR Forum’s Technical Conference and Product Exposition (December 1-4, Washington, D.C.) that it will work with GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, a unit of GE Enterprise Solutions, to develop and market a COTS platform for developers of Software Communications Architecture (SCA)-compliant waveforms and radios.

The platform will combine best-in-class COTS SCA software from PrismTech, and CompactPCI hardware from GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms, and will provide a flexible, richly-featured, affordable COTS SCA solution for developers of SDRs.

The platform will provide:
• GPP, DSP, FPGA resources.
• PrismTech’s Spectra OE (SCA Operating Environment, minimally on GPP but also supporting extended configurations with SCA support on all resources).
• RF/IF interfaces with a minimum 10MHz bandwidth, using standard 10.7, 70, 140, or 160MHz IF.
• FPGA resources to provide IF processing functions, data formatting, switching, etc.
• PrismTech’s Spectra CX component modeling, code generation, and SCA-compliance validation tool.

The jointly-developed platform will provide an end-to-end development environment for the SDR development lab: waveform and platform modeling, SCA code generation and compliance testing, code deployment, and target monitoring and management, with application code portability assured through SCA compliance. It also provides a potential deployment platform with the quality and ruggedness necessary to support field applications.
