Applying DDS to Next Generation Military Vehicle ArchitecturesWhy Should I Attend?• Understand the benefits that DDS brings to next generation vehicle architectures
• Learn about key early adopter experiences in building DDS-based architectures for military vehicles
• Learn about specific OpenSplice DDS extensions addressing this domain space
Abstract:Next generation military (reconfigurable) vehicles have to deal with several challenges: they have to be multi-role, soldier-friendly, reconfigurable, cost-effective to build and maintain, and last but not least long-lived. These challenges have lead to the definition of vehicle architectures which favor open and standards-based technologies. The Data Distribution Service for Real-Time Systems (DDS), is the open standard selected by several different companies and recommended by an increasing number of Ministries of Defense as the backbone architecture for their next generation vehicles.
This webcast will explain the benefits that DDS can bring to next generation vehicle architectures, will provide an overview of the experiences of early DDS adopters in the domain and finally will highlight some OpenSplice DDS specific extensions addressing this domain.
